It has been established in health care that the most important system we have that dictates our health is our nervous system. Since our nervous system is of such importance we need to analyze its level of function using chiropractic techniques.
DEFINITION OF VERTEBRAL SUBLUXATION: The bones of the spine (vertebrae) become misaligned and as a result put pressure on the spinal nerves. This pressure results in abnormal nerve flow to our body parts and leads to abnormal body function. The end result is abnormal health.
WHO HAS SUBLUXATIONS? Subluxations are caused from physical, mental/emotional, and chemical stresses. Since many types of stresses surround every person alive on a daily basis, it becomes logical that every person alive has the potential to have subluxations. It becomes important to check for vertebral subluxations as part of a health care program for every individual.
Examples of physical stresses may be: an accident, poor posture, physical labour, sedentary jobs, a fall, a difficult birth.
Examples of mental/emotional stresses may be: emotional stress, anxiety, death in the family, fast-paced life, change in job, and change in living situation.
Examples of chemical stresses may be: cigarette smoke, poor diet, being close to cleaning solutions or paint fumes, medications, and lack of fresh air.
One strong reality with subluxations is that, if taken care of, a person can live a healthier and longer life. Life is not merely to be alive, but to be well. A subluxation makes us operate below our full potential. It interferes with our body’s wisdom and ability to heal. People, who live their lives never taking care of the subluxations they have developed, live a life that leads to numerous health problems.
It is never too late for a person to be checked for subluxation. Even the elderly who are checked and undergo a plan to correct their subluxations experience their following years to be filled with superior health, better than what they had become used to. Many problems either leave or are dramatically reduced. They may breath easier, go to the toilet easier, have less pain, have more mobility, have an increase in energy through the day, sleep better, and many other improvements in their quality of life.
It is never too late to get your spine and nervous system checked.
